SAMARKAND, Uzbekistan: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif visited Hazrat Khizar Complex and Tomb of Islam Karimov in Samarkand City of Uzbekistan on Thursday.

The prime minister was accompanied by the Federal Minister for Defense Khawaja Asif and the Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Miftah Ismail.

Shahbaz Sharif paid respects at the Mausoleum of Islam Karimov, Uzbekistan’s first President.

Earlier upon his arrival in Uzbekistan, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif was received by his Uzbek Counterpart Abdulla Aripov at the Samarqand International Airport.

Shahbaz Sharif reached Samarkand to attend the annual Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Heads of State Summit on September 15-16, 2022
