ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Senate on Tuesday passed the Civil Servants (Amendment) Bill, 2015 unanimously aimed at providing legal cover to the process of absorption/adjustment of civil servants belonging to the devolved ministries.

Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Sheikh Aftab Ahmed piloted the bill further to amend the Civil Servants Act, 1973 [The Civil Servants (Amendment) Bill, 2015] in the House as reported by the standing committee.

According to the statement of objects and reasons, the bill seeks to provide legal cover to the process of absorption/adjustment of civil servants belongings to the devolved ministries / divisions / departments / offices / organizations by an Act of Parliament.
