ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Chairman Senate Mian Raza Rabbani Wednesday said that parliamentarians and political workers should play their role for welfare of masses in the country.

Addressing a book launching ceremony here at Parliament House, he said today a big responsibility was on the shoulders of parliamentarians, youth and people of Pakistan to work for betterment of the country.

The 120 pages book entitled “Fundamental Rights of the Citizens of Pakistan” is compiled by Zafarullah Khan and published by Senate of Pakistan.

Mian Raza Rabbani said that a pre-planned campaign was always launched that Parliament and political workers were unable to do anything for the country, adding that it was always stated that parliamentarians were only looking for allowances and do nothing.

He stressed that consistency should be maintained in the political system for improvement.

He said fundamental rights could be protected with ensuring rule of law.

He congratulated the book writer Zafarullah Khan, adding that the book would be a useful reference and citational value for researchers, students and even legislators working on the subject.

Deputy Chairman Senate Molana Abdul Ghafoor Haidri, Leader of the House in the Senate Raja Zafarul Haq, Senator Afrasiab Khattak, Farhatullah Babar and former Chairman Senate Nayyar Hussain Bokhari also attended the ceremony.

The book writer Zafarullah Khan thanked the participants on the occasion.

He thanked Chairman Senate Mian Raza Rabbani for encouraging and providing an opportunity to conduct this research along with highly valuable suggestions.

A large number of parliamentarians and senior officials of Senate of Pakistan also attended the ceremony.
