ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The country has imported 5,131,194 metric ton fertilizer worth $ 2,272.3 million in last three years, Minister for Commerce Khurram Dastagir said Friday.

Answering the questions of Senators, he said Saudi Arabia and China are major fertilizer import countries. Fertilizer import is likely to decrease due to import of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG).

Giving the details of 1,270,777 metric ton fertilizer worth $658.6 million was imported in 2012-13. 1,833,243 metric ton fertilizers worth $670 million was imported in2013-14 and 2,027.174 metric ton fertilizers worth $913.7 million was imported in 2014-15.
