Justice (retd) Javed lqbal served as the Chairman of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) from October 11, 2017 to June 3, 2022.

In his capacity as the Chairman NAB, Justice (retd) Javaid Iqbal was drawing a total salary of Rs 1,313,000 per month.

As per the details provided by the Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar to the Senate on August 5, 2022, Javaid Iqbal was receiving per month Rs 1,239,000 as basic pay, Rs 6,000 as telephone allowance, and Rs 68,000 as house rent allowance.

During his tenure of four years and eight months on the post, he received a total of Rs 74,504,985 including a basic pay of Rs 70,305,923, telephone allowance of Rs 340,465, and house rent allowance worth Rs 3,858,598.

As per record, no medical bill was reimbursed to Justice (retd) Javed lqbal during the tenure as the Chairman NAB.

Prior to his appointment as the Chairman NAB, Javed Iqbal served as a Judge of the Supreme Court of Pakistan from April 28, 2000 to July 24, 2011 and the Chief Justice of the Balochistan High Court from April 2, 2000 to April 28, 2000.

On July 21, 2022, the federal government appointed the former Director General Intelligence Bureau (IB) Aftab Sultan as the new Chairman NAB for three years.
