Venue finalized for formal direct talks: Maulana Yousaf

PESHAWAR: The venue for the first formal direct talks between the government dialogue committee and the Taliban has been finalized, the coordinator Taliban negotiating team Maulana Yousaf Shah said.

Talking to media representatives in Peshawar on Friday, Shah said that the Taliban have finalized the venue for direct talks with the government negotiating team and inform the committee soon.

The coordinator said that they were making contact with key Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) commander, adding Taliban were to inform about the venue today; however, there was some problem in communication system.

Shah said that we will leave for meeting as soon as we get green signal from Taliban leader after contact.
