Meanwhile, Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz held a meeting with the Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong in Lahore.

During the meeting, they reviewed possibilities for enhancing relations in the fields of technology, business, and investment.

The Chief Minister proposed the establishment of specific “Chinese Economic Zones” to provide incentives and facilities to Chinese investors.

Nawaz Sharif said that China is Pakistan’s trusted friend, and Pakistan takes pride in its relationship with this great nation. He told the Chinese envoy that Maryam Nawaz is leading several welfare projects for the people of Punjab, and Punjab welcomes Chinese cooperation in infrastructure and technology.

The Chief Minister Punjab said that together with China, they can create economic miracles. She added that Punjab is always ready to welcome their Chinese friends and that Pakistan could greatly benefit from China’s model in reducing poverty.

China is also keen to invest in Punjab’s agriculture sector, he said.
