ISLAMABAD: The nomination papers for the presidential elections will be filed today (Wednesday July 24, 2013) and Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Justice (retd.) Fakhruddin G. Ebrahim will act as returning officer for the purpose.  The CEC Fakhruddin will scrutinize the papers on July 26 at 10am in the federal capital.

The polling for the presidential elections will be held on August 6 from 10am to 3pm at Parliament House Islamabad and all provincial assemblies.

   

It should be mentioned here that President Asif Ali Zardari’s term in office is expiring on September 9 and a presidential election schedule needs to be issued 30 days prior.

According to the ECP, a proposed schedule of the presidential poll was sent to CEC Justice (rted.) Fakhruddin G. Ebrahim, who gave final approval.
