ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Senator Ayub Afridi has tendered his resignation, paving the way for the Prime Minister’s Adviser on Finance Shaukat Tarin to acquire the membership of the Upper House of the Parliament.

Afridi said that the Senate Seat was entrusted to me by the prime minister, and I happily returned it. He said that it’s the prime minister’s prerogative whom he selects as Senator.

Meanwhile, according to sources, Senator Ayub Afridi has been appointed as the Adviser to the Prime Minister on Overseas Ministry.

The source said that Shaukat Tarin will now contest as Senator on his vacant seat in the House.
