The leader of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) and former Senator Siraj Ul Haq survived a suicide attack in the Zhob area of Balochistan.

In a Twitter statement on Friday, the JI said that a suicide attack was carried out targeting a convoy of Siraj Ul Haq who was in Zhob to address a public gathering.

However, luckily Siraj Ul Haq survived the attack while the suicide bomber was killed, the party said.

The Jamaat-e-Islami said that in the attack, seven party workers suffered injuries and four of them were in critical condition.

It said that the party chief will address the gathering as per schedule.

Earlier in a Tweet, the Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami welcomed the Federal Shariat Court’s decision to nullify the un-Islamic provisions of the controversial Transgender Act and delivering a verdict in compliance with Sharia.

Siraj Ul Haq said that the lawyers who stood and fought against this controversial act deserve appreciation.

In the morning earlier, the acting Chief Justice Syed Muhammad Anwar and Justice Khadim Hussain of the Federal Shariat Court in Islamabad ruled that the Sections 2(f), 3 and 7 of the Transgender Act 2018 are against Islamic teachings while Section 2(n) of the Transgender Act is not contrary to Sharia.
