The former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Lifetime Chairman Imran Khan said that he has never denied holding talks with politicians but those must be meant only for free and fair elections.
Holding informal talks at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi on Thursday, Imran Khan said that he emphasized talks with the establishment because the latter holds the real power.
But “I will not negotiate with anyone for power,” he added.
Imran Khan alleged that Nawaz Sharif’s acquittal from all Cases was managed by the establishment. He said that political engineering has brought huge catastrophe to the Country.
“Power should rest with whoever the people elect,” he was of the view, adding that Nawaz Sharif has never done anything with honesty.
The PTI leader also refused to form any alliance with Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), saying that PTI’s alliance is only possible with Majlis Wahdat Muslimeen (MWM) and JUI-Shirani group.
The former prime minister said that they extended the tenure of General Qamar Javed Bajwa as the Army Chief but he asked us to give an NRO to the PDM.
Moreover, he said that they tried to introduce Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) which would have eliminated 80 percent rigging in elections.
Imran Khan said that in the prevailing situation, no one can stop and defeat PTI. He said that they have given a call to come out on Sunday as part of the election campaign only. “This is not politics, rather it is a freedom movement,” he said.
