Polio death toll reaches 104 as new cases detected in KPK, FATA

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The number of polio victims in the country this year has reached 104 after two more polio cases were detected in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the volatile federally administered tribal areas (FATA) on Saturday.

   

The national institute of health confirmed the new polio cases and said that one-year-old baby of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Charsadda district and an eight-year-old girl of Khyber agency’s Bara tehsil were diagnosed with polio virus.

Some 76 polio cases have so far been reported in the tribal areas, 18 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, nine in Sindh and one in Balochistan.
