SHARM EL-SHEIKH, Egypt: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif is on a visit to Sharm El-Sheikh in Egypt to participate in the 70th Session of the Conference of Parties (COP).
Today, on the second day of the high-level segment of COP 27, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif will co-chair an important round table with his Norwegian Counterpart Jonas Gahr Støre titled “Climate Change and Sustainability of Vulnerable Communities”.
The prime minister will participate in the important meeting jointly hosted by the German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and the President of Ghana Nana Akufo-Addo titled “Scaling Up Action and Support on Loss and Damage – Global Shield Against Climate Risk”.
Further, on the sidelines of the Conference, the prime minister will also meet important world leaders.
In my interaction with world leaders on the sidelines of #COP27, I explained the challenges of the post-flood reconstruction in Pakistan. I threw light on govt’s efforts & highlighted the urgent need for continued international support for rehabilitation of flood victims.

Earlier on Monday, Prime Minister held interactions with United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres, President of Iraq Abdul Latif Rashid, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, President of Indonesia Joko Widodo, Prime Minister of Lebanon Najib Makati, President of the European Council Charles Michel, President of the European Commission Ursula Von Der Leyen, Vice President of Indonesia Ma’ruf Amin, Managing Director of International Monetary Fund (IMF) Kristalina Georgieva, Secretary General of Arab League Ahmed Aboul Gheit, and President of UAE Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on the sidelines of COP-27.
