ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is set to begin his week-long trip to New York from Sunday to lead Pakistan’s delegation at the General Assembly Session of the United Nations.

The prime minister will address the UN General Assembly session on September 27 to highlight Pakistan’s foreign policy guide lines, its point of view on various regional and international issues besides domestic priorities.

In his address to the General Assembly, the prime minister will also apprise the session on the efforts of the present government to curb the menace of terrorism besides its endeavour to bring stability to the region.

During his week-long stay in New York‚ the prime minister will also hold bilateral meetings with world leaders on the sidelines of the General Assembly session. He will discuss various bilateral and regional issues with these leaders.

The prime minister is also expected to attend various events during his stay in New York including high-level meetings on millennium development goals‚ sustainable development and nuclear disarmament.
