The prime minister directed the Punjab govt to ensure that no authority creates impediment to peaceful protests by citizenry or political parties.

Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has said peaceful protest is an inalienable right of all Pakistanis and directed the Punjab government to ensure no violation in this regard.

Talking to Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on telephone‚ the Prime Minister said democracy and peaceful protests are interlinked.

He said the Punjab government must ensure that no authority creates any impediment in the way of this constitutional right of all citizens including the political parties.

He said all issues should be resolved through dialogue.
