ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC) on Thursday disqualified former Sindh Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah to contest upcoming elections after he failed to submit any certificate before the apex court to surrender foreign nationality.

A three-member bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry disqualified him on the ground for retaining dual nationality.

The court in its order said that Murad Shah from PS-76 constituency did not present any certificate before it to surrrender foreign nationality.
