ISLAMABAD: The Secretary of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Ishtiaque Ahmed said on Wednesday that the election schedule will be announced after 10 days v, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported.

The election process is already in progress and the commission has already notified the names of Returning and Assistant District Returning officers and is receiving applications from the political parties for allotment of symbols, Ishtiaque told media in Islamabad today.

The Secretary ECP said what could be done to meet the requirements of the Article 63 of the constitution will be undertaken in the remaining ten days. He said in this short period we have to develop our system including on lining confirmation of the nomination papers and on the other side the manual system.

In order to finalize the nomination paper format, a meeting will be held tomorrow in the ECP, he informed.

The meeting will be attended by Parliamentary Committee and the Ministry of Law. After its approval it would be sent to President for approval‚ then it would be sent for printing, he added.
