Pakistan witnesses four more polio cases, total number reaches 235

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The country has witnessed 235 polio cases during the current year after the polio virology laboratory of the national institute of health confirmed four more cases.

The new polio cases were reported from the troubled northwestern Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) and southwestern Balochistan.

“Two cases have been reported from Qilla Abdullah and one case from Quetta. The case from FATA has been reported from South Waziristan,” an official of the ministry of national health services said.

The official said that 151 polio cases have been reported from FATA, 48 from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 23 from Sindh, 10 from Balochistan and three from Punjab during the current year.
