Foreign OfficePakistan rejects Indian allegations of involvement in Uri attack

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan Thursday dismissed allegations by India of involvement in the attack on a military base at Uri, as an attempt to divert attention of the world community from its atrocities in the Occupied Kashmir.

In his weekly media briefing in Islamabad on Thursday, the Foreign Office Spokesman Nafees Zakaria said it has become a habit of India to point accusing fingers towards Pakistan after every such incident.

“Pakistan has nothing to gain from such incidents,” he said.

The spokesman said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in his address to the 71st session of the United Nations General Assembly urged the world body to implement its resolutions on Kashmir.

Zakaria also referred to the strong support extended by the 57-member Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to the right of self-determination of Kashmiri people and said many other countries also supported their cause.

The foreign office spokesman pointing to the ongoing gruesome brutalities by the Indian occupation forces, urged upon the UN Secretary-General, the UN Human Rights Commissioner and international community for measures to stop the bloodshed in the Indian Held Kashmir.

Nafees Zakaria said that over 110 Kashmiris have so far been martyred while over 10,000 injured. He said about 800 innocent civilians have lost eye sight due to the use of pellet guns by the Indian security forces.

In response to a question, he acknowledged that there was concrete evidence of Indian sponsored terrorism and terrorist financing in Pakistan especially in Balochistan and Karachi. He said it has been substantiated by confession of the Indian spy Kulbhushan Yadev.

The spokesman regretted that the Indian media was misleading the world by creating war hype. He said Pakistan was vigilant of Indian intentions of perpetrating terrorist activities in Pakistan and added that Pakistan has shared the proof in this regard at all international fora including the UN.

He said the recent statement of Indian Prime Minister was yet another proof of India’s involvement in terrorism and terror financing in Pakistan aimed at destabilizing the country.

Regarding reports that Brahmdagh Bugti was seeking political asylum in India, he said it only substantiates India’s involvement in terrorism in Balochistan.

To a question about the ongoing exercise of the Pakistan Air Force, the spokesman said it was a routine matter and added that the entire nation stood along with its armed forces to defend its motherland at all costs.

Referring to the operation against terrorism, the spokesman said Pakistan was carrying out a comprehensive operation against all terrorists without any discrimination and added that the results have been acknowledged and appreciated by the world community.

The spokesman referred to the claims by the Indian media of some negative remarks by the Prime Minister of Nepal and accusations of terrorism against Pakistan, he said the office of the Nepalese

Prime Minister in a statement rejected these false claims. He said the Nepali Prime Minister in his interview was talking of cross border terrorism between India and Nepal and no third party country was referred to in that interview.

To a question Nafees Zakaria said Ahmad Khan Rahami; the man involved in Manhattan terror attack has no connection with Pakistan. He nor his wife were Pakistani nationals. He said they were Afghans’ American nationals and residing in the USA for years.
