MONITORING DESK: The former Prime Minister of Pakistan Shaukat Aziz has said that Pakistan can help Azerbaijani Army enhancing its already excellent capabilities.

In an interview with Seymour Mamedov for Vzglyad.az, Shaukat Aziz stated that Azerbaijan and Pakistan have historic and cultural linkages.

Shaukat Aziz, who was in Baku to attend the Global Baku Forum, believes that Pakistan can help the Azerbaijani army in its training and in strategic planning.

Our countries have a lot of similarities in the field of culture and religion. I believe that cooperation in the military field, as well as civil, trade, and investment have great prospects and opportunities. I think on both sides should involve a large number of people to visit our countries, capable of building bridges of cooperation, and destroying all kinds of barriers. This can be realized when the issues of transportation and delivery are facilitated,” he said.

Responding to a question about bilateral relations between Pakistan and Azerbaijan, the former prime minister noted that these ties have historically always been strong.

When asked to comment on the Baku Global Forum, Shaukat Aziz remarked that it was a great forum and the quality and content of the discussions as well as the quality of the participant themselves were excellent.
