ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Paying rich tributes to the former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto on her 69th birthday, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that “Our democracy is poorer without her”.

In a statement on Twitter, the prime minister said that the void left by Benazir’s martyrdom will never be filled.

Shahbaz Sharif said that the former prime minister fearlessly and staunchly advocated the causes she believed in.

“May Allah rest her soul in peace,” he prayed.

Meanwhile, the 69th birth anniversary of Benazir Bhutto Shaheed is being celebrated in a befitting manner on Tuesday.

Benazir Bhutto was not only the first female Prime Minister of Pakistan but she was also the first women Prime Minister from the Muslim World.

In connection with her 69th birthday, the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has organized a public gathering. The party leaders and workers are converging at Garhi Khuda Bakhsh Bhutto to pay tribute to her.

The Chairman PPP and the Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and other party leaders will attend the cake cutting ceremony at Municipal Stadium in Larkana.
