Monitoring Desk: NATO chief Anders Rasmussen  is visiting Kiev to hold meeting for Ukraine-NATO dialogue on Thursday.

NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen will visit Ukraine on August 7, Head of Ukraine’s Mission to NATO, Ambassador Ihor Dolhov, has said.

NATO authorities are linking Rasmussen visit to Kiev to discuss NATO summit scheduled to be held on September 4-5 in the United Kingdom stating that Rasmussen visit to Kyiv on August 7 will be fruitful and important for preparations for the summit. However, pro Russian politicians are considering this visit “too early for preparation of summit” and considering his visit to discuss and share military campaign against rebels in Eastern Ukraine and Kiev-Moscow relations.

“There are possibilities of direct involvement of NATO in Ukrainian and Russian conflict”, said observers.
