ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The first Session of the Country’s 15th National Assembly will take place at the Parliament House in Islamabad on Monday (August 13, 2018) with newly elected lawmakers.
The National Assembly Session, to be held at 10:00 am as Summoned by President Mamnoon Hussain by approving a Summary sent by the Caretaker Prime Minister Nasir-Ul-Mulk to him for Summoning the Session, will feature the Oath taking of newly elected members of the Lower House of the Parliament.

The Outgoing Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq will administer the Oath to the new Parliamentarians as well as the Speaker. Once a new Speaker is elected, he will then administer the Oath to the new Deputy Speaker.
Following the election of the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker, the schedule for the electing the Leader of the House will be issued.
The majority party in the National Assembly – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) – has nominated its Chairman Imran Khan for the Premiership while the Opposition Alliance has nominated the President of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Shahbaz Sharif as its Joint Candidate for the Slot.
Likewise, the Joint Opposition has nominated Syed Khursheed Shah of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Maulana Asadur Rehman of Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) as its Candidates for the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker respectively whereas PTI has nominated Asad Qaider for the Speaker National Assembly but yet to unveil the name for the Deputy Speaker.
The PTI Central Information Secretary Fawad Chaudhry has claimed to have the support of 180 lawmakers in the Lower House, eight more than the required numbers to get Imran Khan elected as the prime minister in the first round.
Meanwhile, President Mamnoon Hussain has reportedly postponed his Netherland’s trip to administer the Oath to Imran Khan as the Country’s new prime minister.
Fawad Chaudhry expressed the hope that Imran Khan will take the Oath between August 15 and 17.
