Model Town massacre: Court orders murder cases against 21 including PM, CM

LAHORE, Pakistan: A session court in Lahore has ordered to register murder cases against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, and the Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan among 21 persons for their involvement in Lahore’s Model Town massacre on June 17.

In its order issued on Saturday on a petition filed by Minhajul Quran, the court directed Station House Officer (SHO) Faisal Town police station to register cases against the accused persons and ordered that a report should be presented before it after completion of the said.

At least 11 workers of the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) were killed and over 100 people were injured in a police crackdown on the PAT workers in Lahore’s Model Town on June 17.
