KashmirUS must abide by its promise to alleviate Kashmiris’ sufferings: Pakistan envoy

WASHINGTON: Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States Dr. Asad Majeed Khan has reminded the Donald Trump administration of its promise to act upon its due role to liberalize Kashmiris from the Indian oppression by mediating the negotiation between Pakistan and India.

It’s been 348 days since the Nazism and Fascism-inspired New Delhi regime wreaked havoc in Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOJ&K) by repealing its Special Status and placing unjustified and unlimited restrictions on Kashmir for an indefinite period.

As wisdom and ethics demand, the Indian government should have eased the restrictions in IOJ&K in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic, however, it went vice-versa and further tightened the clutches, enhancing Kashmiris’ sufferings manifold.

In his article “Kashmir Looks to America for Moral Leadership” published on the US weekly magazine Newsweek on July 17, Ambassador Asad Majeed Khan wrote that Indian Occupied Kashmir today is a burden on the conscience of the International Community, and urged it to effectively demand an end to India’s egregious human rights violations in IOJ&K.
