Nearly 100,000 innocent Kashmiris have been martyred and over 11,000 women have been raped by the Indian occupying forces since January 1989, highlighting the intensity of the brutality of Indian troops in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

Today Youm-e-Istehsal is being observed to register protest against Indian government’s illegal action of August 5, 2019.

The Hindutva-influenced BJP-led Indian regime had illegally and unilaterally abrogated Article 370 and 35-A of the Indian constitution, revoking the Special Status of Kashmir, five years ago.

Since August 5, 2019, the Indian forces have martyred 907 innocent Kashmiris, tortured/critically injured 2,442 Kashmiris, arrested 24,904, destroyed 1,122 structures, widowed 69 women, orphaned 187 children, gang raped/molested 133 women, according to the figures released by the Kashmir Media Service (KMS).

From January 1989 to July 31, 2024, there has been significant violence and atrocities committed by the Indian forces in IIOJK, with total killings of 96,340, 7,347 custodial killings, 171,843 civilian arrests, 110,518 structure demolitions, 22,977 women being widowed, 1,07,965 children being orphaned, and 11,264 gang rapes.
