JAKARTA, Indonesia: Seven persons including a police officer, three civilians and three militants were reportedly killed when a series of blasts rocked the Indonesian Capital Jakarta on Thursday.

The Indonesian President Joko Widodo called the blasts “acts of terror,” saying he had ordered a huntdown and capture of the perpetrators and those in their network.

“Our nation and our people should not be afraid, we will not be defeated by these acts of terror, I hope the public stay calm,” the president said in his televised address.

“We all are grieving for the fallen victims of this incident, but we also condemn the act that has disturbed the security and peace and spread terror among our people.”
