Ishaq Dar reiterates govt’s desire to further deepen bilateral trade & investment ties with US

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Ambassador of the United Stated to Pakistan Donald Blome called on the Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar at Finance Division in Islamabad on Friday.

Ishaq Dar extended warm welcome to the Ambassador and stated long-term, broad-based and multi-dimensional relationship between Pakistan and the United States.

The finance minister also briefed the US ambassador about devastations caused by the recent floods in Pakistan. He further highlighted the economic agenda and policies of the government with aim to bring about economic and fiscal stability.

The minister said that attracting the US foreign investment in different sectors of Pakistan’s economy is the government’s top priority and present government is focusing on creating a business-friendly environment for foreign investors.

Ambassador Donald Blome felicitated Ishaq Dar on assuming the charge of Finance Ministry. He also extended sympathy on the destruction caused by the floods and support of his government.

The ambassador further underscored that both Countries enjoy good relations and expressed confidence on the policies and programmes of the government.

Donald Blome extended his support to further promote bilateral economic, investment and trade relations between both the countries.

The Finance Minister Ishaq Dar thanked the US ambassador and reiterated the desire of the present government to further deepen bilateral trade and investment ties with the United States.
