ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: In an attempt to hype up the fake popularity of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), the anchorperson Gharidah Farooqi – who is believed to a be pro-PML-N journalist – is allegedly conducting planted election surveys in Punjab.

In one of the video went viral on social media in which a person is heard exposing that how Gharidah Farooqi was asking the people to introduce themselves as PML-N supporters prior to questioning them on camera about their political allegiance and intention to vote in February 8 elections.

Another video also exposed how Gharidah Farooqi was issuing ‘specific’ instructions to two persons prior to asking them about PML-N’s performance.

In response to such planted surveys, PTI responded strongly saying “The only way through which PML-N can win elections is through such surveys”.

Recently, multiple elections surveys were conducted by TV Channels in which Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) emerged way ahead across the Country in popularity than rest of the political parties.

Eventually, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) asked the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) to stop News Channels from airing poll surveys, maintaining these can influence the free choice of voters.

In another video on X, Gharidah Farooqi was interviewing Advocate Imran Shafique – a Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Candidate from NA-56 Rawalpindi – for GTV News and asking him whether he had the level playing field ahead of the polls.

To which, Advocate Imran Shafique lamented that the administration under the directives of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) was removing their banners. But at the same time, he added, the administration was helping the PML-N workers to fix their party’s banners and helping them in their electioneering.

The JI Candidate also criticized the rejection of the nomination papers, and keeping someone out from the election process through political engineering.
