SHABQADAR, Pakistan: The Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has said that the Indian Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar’s statement about sponsoring terrorism should serve as an eye opener for the entire world.
Earlier this month, Manohar Parrikar in a statement advocated the use of terrorism to counter terrorism from other countries.
In his address at the passing out parade of Frontier Constabulary in Shabqadar on Thursday, Chaudhry Nisar said that the Indian defense minister has admitted his country’s involvement in acts of explosions in Pakistan.
The minister said that the elements perpetrating acts of terrorism in Pakistan are actually puppets and proxies of our eternal enemy. However, he said that the entire political and military leadership are on the same page to defeat their nefarious designs.
The interior minister emphatically stated that internal and external enemies of the country will be defeated at all costs with unity in ranks.
Nisar further said that our external enemy does not have the courage for face to face confrontation; therefore, it is using proxies to trigger anarchy in our villages and cities.
On Wednesday, the Senate Standing Committee on Defence also strongly condemned Manohar Parrikar’s statement, calling it the provocative and irresponsible.
In a resolution adopted by the committee, it was said that the statement of the Indian defence minister is tantamount to a confession that India is pursuing a policy of state sponsored terrorism.
The committee said that the Indian admission of sponsoring terrorism has serious implications for all of India’s neighbours particularly Pakistan.
Earlier at an event in New Delhi, the Indian defence minister asserted that terrorists have to be neutralized only through terrorists.
“We have to neutralize terrorists through terrorists only. Why can’t we do it? We should do it. Why does my soldier have to do it?” Manohar Parrikar said.
“There are certain things that I obviously cannot discuss here. But if there is any country, planning something against my country, we will definitely take some pro-active steps.”
