MUMBAI:  A five-storey residential building collapsed in the Mahim area of Mumbai on Monday, while several people mostly children and senior citizens are feared trapped under the debris, India media reported.

“People are feared to have been trapped after a portion of a five-storey residential building on Cadell Road collapsed,” an official of the Brihan Mumbai Corporation said.

The building is located near the famous Mahim dargah or shrine.

It has rained heavily in Mumbai since yesterday. Today, trains and flights were delayed and water-logging and traffic jams were reported from different parts of the capital.
