Monitoring Desk: The All-India Muslim Personal Law Board (Jadeed) has expressed serious concerns over the recent visit of Afghan Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi, calling it a dangerous development for the Muslims of India.
While requesting anonymity, a senior member of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (Jadeed) said that the Afghan Taliban had reached an agreement with the Indian government during the visit of the Afghan Foreign Minister, under which 5,000 Afghan religious scholars would be employed in religious institutions across India. These radical elements, he warned, could sow division and hatred among Indian Muslims, who are already facing persecution at the hands of the Indian government.
He further stated that the growing India–Afghanistan contact was alarming, as Afghans have remained silent over the Modi government’s brutal actions against Muslims including demolishing their homes, denying them employment, and suspending senior Muslim officials from government positions. Despite the martyrdom of innocent Muslims in targeted attacks on madrasas and mosques, the Afghan government and its Foreign Ministry have not issued a single statement condemning these acts of oppression.
“The question is, why have these Afghan Taliban who claim to act in the name of Islam remained silent on India’s attacks on mosques? Why did they not issue a statement of condemnation?” asked Muhammad Zakir (name changed).
