Islamabad, Pakistan: Former Prime Minister Imran Khan became Trustee of 469 Kanal land for Al-Qadir University in Sohawa that was donated by Malik Riaz while Imran Khan also included his wife Bushra Bibi and her friend Farah Khan as Trustees.

HEC has yet not accepted Al-Qadir as University possibly of the appointment of the Trustees who have no qualifications for running a University.

An amount of one billion rupees were also given for the construction of the University and 18 million rupees were gathered as donations for University. The land was acknowledged by Bushra Bibi in a contract with Bharia Town.

According to documents, 469 Kanal land near Jhelum was given by Malik Riaz for Al-Qadir University and the then Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan became Trustee of the University along with his wife and his friend Zulfi Bokhari and Barrister Babar Awan who had been an advisor to Prime Minister. After some time, Imran Khan changed the names of the Trustees and removed the names of Zulfi Bokhari and Babar Awan with Dr. Arif Butt and Farhat alias Farah Khan who is a close friend of Bushra Bibi.

It may be remembered that former Prime Minister Imran Khan on November 29, 2021, launched an academic block of the Al Qadir University. This University was announced to promote Islam, other religions, Sufism, and moral values.

Meanwhile, the Daily News reports Al-Qadir University Trust established a college that was affiliated with Government College University, Lahore. A trust deed was registered on December 26, 2019, with the Office of Sub Registrar. The original trustees at that time were Imran Khan, Bushra Khan, Zulfiqar Abbas Bukhari (former SAPM for Overseas Pakistanis), and Babar Awan (legal advisor to the then PM Imran Khan). On April 22, 2020, then Prime Minister Imran Khan as Chairperson of Al Qadir Trust Islamabad wrote a letter to the joint sub-registrar, Islamabad, informing him that Zaheer ud Din Babar Awan and Zulfiqar Abbas Bukhari had been dropped or deleted from the trust and the office was relocated to the Banigala House of Imran Khan. The amended Trust Deed along with the letter was signed and sent to the joint sub-registrar Islamabad while Imran Khan was holding the office of the Prime Minister.

On February 17, 2022, the Charity Commission Government of Punjab registered Al-Qadir Project trust, GT Road Sohawa, Bakrala, District Jhelum, as a charity. The name of the trustees of the Al-Qadir trust project as per the Charity Portal include Imran Khan, Mrs. Bushra Khawar w/o Imran Ahmad Khan Niazi, Dr. Arif Nazir Butt, and Mrs. Farhat Shahzadi.

On March 2, 2022, a trust deed titling ‘Endowment Fund for Al-Qadir Institute” was registered in the office of the sub-registrar Sohawa. The names of the trustees in this deed are “Bushra Khan, Farhat Shahzadi, and Dr Arif Nazeer Butt while the author of this deed is Imran Khan.
