ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Imran Khan has expressed satisfaction at the excellent quality of bilateral political relations between Pakistan and Azerbaijan, and emphasized the importance of enhancing bilateral trade and energy cooperation.

Talking to the Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov, who along with a delegation met him in Islamabad on Thursday and exchanged views on matters relating to bilateral relations, and regional & international issues, the prime minister extended sincere felicitations on Azerbaijan’s recent success in liberation of its occupied territories.

On Azerbaijan’s call for support in the reconstruction and development of liberated territories, the prime minister assured of all possible assistance from Pakistan.

The Azerbaijan Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov conveyed cordial greetings of President Ilham Aliyev to Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Jeyhun Bayramov also expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s support on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict & reaffirmed Azerbaijan’s consistent support & solidarity on the Jammu & Kashmir dispute.

The Azerbaijan foreign minister also affirmed Azerbaijan’s desire to upgrade the bilateral cooperation with Pakistan in all fields.

The Foreign Minister of Pakistan Shah Mahmood Qureshi and the Foreign Secretary Sohail Mahmood were also present in the meeting.

Earlier in the day, the Azeri foreign minister also held a meeting with President Dr. Arif Alvi at Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad and exchanged views on various aspects of Pakistan-Azerbaijan ties.

Talking to him, President Arif Alvi underlined the need to enhance cultural and commercial ties between the two Countries.
