ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: A delegation of M/s Rothschild & Co comprising Mr. Eric Lalo, Partner and Mr. Thibaud Fourcade, Managing Director called on the Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar at the Finance Division in Islamabad on Monday.

The Minister of State for Finance and Revenue Dr. Aisha Ghous Pasha and senior officers from Finance Division participated in meeting.

The Finance Minister Ishaq Dar greeted the delegation and shared the economic outlook of the Country and said that despite challenging economic situation, the government is steering the economy of the Country towards stability and growth.

Senator Ishaq Dar shared that as the finance minister he had successfully completed the International Monetary Fund (IMF) programme in the past and that the present government is committed to complete the present programme and fulfill all international obligations.

The Rothschild & Co delegation briefed the finance minister on Company’s profile and its financial services provided to various countries across the world.

The delegation supported the policy steps taken by the government for sustaining and boosting the fiscal and monetary stability and expressed confidence on achieving sustainable economic development due to pragmatic policies of the government.

The meeting discussed the economic challenges being faced by Pakistan and possible roadmap for economic recovery leading to sustainable growth and development.

The delegation was of the view that positives in the economy had to be highlighted vigorously globally.

Ishaq Dar appreciated M/s Rothschild’s positive intentions for the economic prosperity of Pakistan.

On the sidelines of Bahrain International Airshow, Commander of Ninth Air Force (US Air Forces Central Command — AFCENT), Lieutenant General Derek France called on Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force. The Air Chief reiterated his resolve to further enhance the existing bilateral cooperation between the two strategic partners. Commander AFCENT appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in promoting regional peace and vowed to enhance cooperation in the fields of joint training, mutual exercises and military to military collaboration. In a separate meeting, Chief of the Air Staff also called on Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force.
