DND: Fugitive Falak Javed was arrested from the residence of renowned lawyer Salman Akram Raja in Islamabad, claimed local police.
According to police sources, Falak Javed, a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activist, was arrested last night. She was wanted in several cases under the PECA Act for using social media for illegal activities, including spreading propaganda against state institutions.
Police stated that she had been consistently evading law enforcement agencies to avoid arrest. Falak Javed is the sister of Sanam Javed, and both sisters have been involved in campaigning and spreading baseless accusations and false propaganda against government officials and state institutions.
Authorities added that such baseless allegations are not only attempts to mislead citizens but also a deliberate conspiracy to undermine the credibility of state institutions, stressing that a thorough police investigation into all the allegations and propaganda is necessary.
It is both surprising and concerning that Falak Javed was caught in Salman Akram Raja’s apartment in Islamabad, while Sanam Javed has reportedly been living for months in the annex of Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur’s residence in Peshawar.
