ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on Saturday announced to increase government employees’ salaries by 10 %, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported.

Talking to media persons outside the Parliament House in Islamabad on Saturday, the finance minister said that a committee was constituted on the directives of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif  to increase government employees’ salaries which recommended 7.5 % hike in the salary of civil servants.

Ishaq Dar said, however, keeping in view 10 % rise in the pension‚ the government has decided to increase salary of the civil servants by 10 %.

The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz government was strongly criticized over the budget in which no increase in the government employees’ salaries was announced.
