ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has urged people of FATA to participate in the general elections actively.

Addresses the ‘Grand Tribal Jirga’ he said that the doors for reforms in FATA were shut in the past but the PPP government opened them for the first time.

‘FATA women are also beneficiaries of Benazir Income Support Programme which is being expanded’, he said.

The president hoped that dynamics of political reforms will release energies promoting peace as well

He said that FATA has all necessary ingredients to progress and develop and government has been endeavouring to exploit this potential.

President Zardari has eulogized the sacrifices rendered by people of FATA in the past to defend the motherland.
