ISLAMABAD: Federal Law and Justice Minister Zahid Hamid has been removed from his post by the federal government, a reshuffle just 15 days after the constitution of the federal cabinet.

Zahid Hamid has now been assigned the portfolio of minister for science and technology. A notification has also been issued in this regard.

Meanwhile, Khurram Dastagir has been given the ministry of state for privatization. It is also expected that Ameer Muqam might be appointed as advisor to the prime minister.

Earlier it was reported on June 19 that Zahid Hamid had decided to step down as Federal Law and Justice Minister after the appearance of his name as defendant in the case of emergency imposed by former president Pervez Musharraf.

He conveyed to the prime minister his inability to continue as the law minister. The prime minister consented to change his portfolio.
