TTP is fighting Indian proxy war against Pakistan: Khawaja Asif

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal Minister for Defence Khawaja Asif has said that the banned terror outfit Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) is fighting Indian proxy war against Pakistan, a couple of days after his Indian Counterpart advocated use of terrorism in other countries.

In his remarks while talking to private television channel, the minister said that the Indian intelligence network and terrorists have joined hands to foment unrest in Pakistan.

The defence minister also alleged that India is also involved in terrorist activities in Pakistan’s western Balochistan province.

Earlier on Saturday, Pakistan expressed its serious concern over comments made by the Indian Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar where he had said that India would use terrorism to counter terrorism from other countries.

In a statement, the Prime Minister’s Adviser on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz said that Parrikar’s statement confirmed Pakistan’s apprehensions that India was involved in terrorism in Pakistan.

Khawaja Asif said in his remarks that his Indian counterpart’s recent statement about sponsoring terrorism to counter terrorism had confirmed “our assertions of Indian involvement in terrorist activities on Pakistani soil”.

The defence minister said that the statement of Parrikar was a blatant admission of sponsoring terrorism in Pakistan.
