KARACHI: The workers and supporters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf took to roads Sunday night and mounted protest against the rigging in May 11 general elections in the metropolis.

The leaders and workers of Pakistan People’s Party, Wahdat Muslimeen, Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) and Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) also partook in the protest demonstration under the auspices of Tehreek Insaf.

All the parties, on the occasion, were in agreement that Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) failed in its duty to hold free and transparent elections.

Charged PTI supporters gathered at Do-Talwar point of Clifton and set off in procession to Teen-Talwar. They returned to Do-Talwar and raised full-throttled slogans in protest against the poll riggings in Karachi.

Insaf workers asserted that elections were rigged in Karachi, hence they should be rescheduled here. Different leaders including Dr. Arif Alvi and Syed Ali Zaidi addressed the protest demo and demanded the re-elections in metropolis.

The number of demonstrators kept on bulging. The PTI leaders said the PTI will emerge as victorious if re-elections are held in NA250.
