ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Pakistani lawmakers have called upon the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to deliberate the issue of genocide of Rohingya Muslims in Buddhist-majority Myanmar and take necessary action in the matter.

In a resolution moved by the Minister for Defence Production Rana Tanveer Hussain in the National Assembly on Wednesday and later passed by the lawmakers, later expressed deep concerns over the heinous crimes being committed by the religious extremists against the Rohingya Muslims.

The lawmakers also called upon the United Nations to intervene to stop human rights violations there.
