Nisar convenes joint meeting of govt, TTP negotiators on Saturday

ISLAMABAD: The federal minister for interior Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has convened a joint meeting of members of the government and Taliban dialogue committees on Saturday.

The meeting will review the recent meeting of the government negotiating team with the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Shura and decide about the future strategy.

On Wednesday, the government negotiating team and the TTP Shura held their first round of direct peace talks in a remote area of North Waziristan and reached consensus on extending the ceasefire and on the exchange of non-combatants prisoners.
