KATHMANDU, Nepal: Another earthquake measuring 7.4 on the Richter scale struck Nepal on Tuesday, killing at least 42 persons and injuring more than 11,00 others.
The epicenter of the earthquake was 83 kilometers (52 miles) east of Kathmandu.
The tremors were also felt in northern India as well as in New Delhi and Bangladesh’s Capital Dhaka.
The Indian officials said that four persons were also killed in Indian states bordering Nepal, one in Uttar Pradesh and three in Bihar while one person died in Tibet.
It was the second powerful earthquake which hit Nepal within a couple of weeks as on April 25, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck Nepal that killed more than 8,000 people and injured further over 17,000.
The 7.8 magnitude earthquake caused the deadliest disaster in Nepal, the country had witnessed in more than 80 years. The earthquake caused thousands of casualties, destroyed numerous buildings in Kathmandu and severely affected rural areas across the region.
