Nawaz Sharif to undertake two-day visit to Bahrain from Wednesday

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif accompanied by a high-level delegation will undertake a two-day official visit to Bahrain from Wednesday, the Foreign Office said on Tuesday.

His visit will take place on the invitations of King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and Prime Minister of Bahrain Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa.

During the visit, the prime minister will have meetings with the King and his counterpart besides calls on him by select Ministers of Bahrain.

The delegation-level talks and tête-à-tête with the King will focus on further enhancement of bilateral relations in various fields including energy cooperation, manpower employment, trade and investment, and defence.

Earlier in March last year, the King of Bahrain paid his first State visit to Pakistan at the invitation of Nawaz Sharif. During the visit, several agreements/Memorandums of Understanding on cooperation in the fields of economic development, food security, investment, labour, and water and power, etc were signed.

Pakistan and Bahrain enjoy excellent bilateral relations in all fields. The two countries also closely cooperate at international forums like the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

Bahrain hosts over 100,000 Pakistanis who are contributing to the development of the Kingdom and are a bridge between the peoples of two countries.
