ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Thursday alleged that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was doing propaganda against Pakistan army, and also cautioned the government against any misadventures.

His remarks were made in an apparent reference to latest controversy, leading to creating a rift between the government and the military establishment over who fed story to DAWN News’s journalist Cyril Almeida regarding a high level security meeting.

“We have made all out arrangements for reaction of the government,” Imran Khan said while talking to media in Islamabad when asked to comment about government’s possible initiatives against PTI’s planned sit-in in Islamabad on November 2.

Imran Khan said that there should have not been any objection over peaceful protest.

“A dangerous game is being played to hide corruption,” the PTI Chief added.

Last night sources said that the federal government had been mulling over to put Imran Khan, Chief of Awami Muslim League (AML) Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed and active members of PTI under house arrest as part of endeavors to prevent Islamabad siege.

Sources further said that according to the government plan, PTI workers from Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Azad Jammu and Kashmir would also not be allowed to enter the Federal Capital.

In separate talks with a private news channel, the PTI Chief Imran Khan said that the government should have not tried to keep him under house arrest.

“If the government keeps me under house arrest, the situation will deteriorate,” Imran Khan warned.

Moscow says it won’t allow US to silence UNSC on Israeli violence against Palestinians Monitoring Desk: Russian envoy in United Nations Vasily Nebenzya said that the UN Security Council should bring peace, stability and prosperity to the Middle East and Russia would not allow United States to silence UNSC over the issue of Gaza crisis. According to TASS news Agency, Nebenzya said that Moscow will continue to call for an end to violence against Palestinians and will not allow the US to muzzle the UN Security Council as Washington seeks to support Israel's operation in Gaza. "We will continue to stand firmly for ending violence against the Palestinians. Without a shadow of a doubt, we will continue to expose the abuses and sanctimony with which the US is handling the situation. We will not allow the Americans to gag the entire council with their hands in an effort to encourage further continuation of Israel's ruthless operation," he said in a speech at the Security Council.
