ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: A special committee has been constituted to ensure implementation of the 20-point national action plan to counter terrorism, approved by the political parties on Wednesday.
The committee was constituted by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at a consultative meeting of legal and constitutional experts held in Islamabad on Friday to implement action plan against terrorism.
The meeting reviewed modalities to implement the measures announced by the prime minister in his address to the nation on Wednesday night to curb terrorism
It was decided that the prime minister will himself head the committee while the members include Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Pervaiz Rasheed, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Ahsan Iqbal and Sartaj Aziz.

The prime minister while speaking on the occasion said that he himself will supervise the process of implementation of the plan to ensure early and effective implementation.
Sharif directed the attorney general Salman Aslam Butt to consult the political leadership for bringing necessary amendments to the constitution at the earliest.
The prime minister said that military operation Zarb-e Azb against the enemy in the tribal areas and those hiding in the cities is an important turn in the history of the country.
Nawaz Sharif said that the unrevertabe phase of eradication of terrorism in the country has begun. He said that police and the law-enforcement agencies have important role in the mission.
The premier said that he himself will visit the provinces and get update on implementation of plan from the provincial governments.
Moreover, he said that the Peshawar tragedy will remain in focus of the government until the last terrorist on the soil of Pakistan is eliminated.
