ISAF Commander, COAS discuss Pak-Afghan border situation

RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: The International Security Assistance Force’s (ISAF) Commander in Afghanistan General John Campbell called on the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif at the army’s general headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi on Thursday.

In a statement, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that during the meeting the discussed security situation on Pakistan-Afghanistan border and mutual contacts.

Earlier, the United Kingdom Chief of General Staff General Sir Nicholas Carter held a meeting with the COAS in Rawalpindi and discussed matters of mutual interest including regional security situation and measures to further enhance defence cooperation between both the countries.

The ISPR said that General Sir Nicholas Carter was also given a detailed briefing on operational and training aspects of Pakistan army.

Earlier on arrival at the GHQ, a smartly turned out contingent of Pakistan army presented Guard of Honour to the dignitary. General Sir Nicholas Patrick Carter also laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada.
