On May 8, a MI-17 helicopter carrying foreign diplomats crashed due to a technical fault while landing in Naltar Valley of Gilgit-Baltistan causing deaths of seven persons including Norwegian Ambassador Leif Holger Larsen and the Philippines Ambassador Domingo D. Lucenario.

The 58-year-old Indonesian envoy was among those who were injured in the crash. He was under treatment at a hospital in Singapore but today he succumbed to his injuries.
