Diplomatic CircleIndian envoy discusses bilateral ties with PM Nawaz

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The outgoing Indian High Commissioner Dr TCA Raghavan paid a farewell call on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Islamabad on Tuesday.

During the meeting, the two sides held a discussion regarding matters pertaining to bilateral interest.

Meanwhile, the senior diplomat Gautam Bambawale has already been appointed as the Indian next High Commissioner to Pakistan. He was previously posted as India’s envoy to Bhutan.

The tension in bilateral relations between Pakistan and India have considerably been eased recently following a series of meetings between two nuclear powers’ leaders.

The two historically arch-rivals have also announced the revival of stalled dialogue process to resolve their outstanding issues and in this regard, the first high-official level meeting is highly expected next week.

The recent unexpected and surprise visit of the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Lahore further showed that the two countries are committed to move forward, keeping aside their mutual differences for assuring their bilateral as well as regional peace and stability.
